Orthopaedic Massage - 30min

Orthopaedic Massage focuses on treating painful conditions that affect the soft tissues of the body. Developed to treat medical conditions, it involves releasing tense muscles, helping to stretch and lengthen tight muscles, tendons and decompress rigid joints. This involves active isolated stretching. Muscle tissues respond to stretching and heal more quickly with improvements in pain levels, athletic performance, injury recovery and flexibility.

Orthopaedic massage can help:

  • Pain as a result of severe trauma

  • Muscle spasms and pain

  • Back and neck pain

  • Sports injuries

  • Whiplash

  • Migraine

  • Arthritic pain

Neuromuscular Massage

Neuromuscular therapy is a form of body work aiming to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body.  It is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. The emphasis is on stimulating the body’s natural ability to heal itself through facilitating the release of endorphins.

This intensive massage improves independent and synergistic function of muscles and joints, frees the breathing apparatus (e.g. diaphragm) of the body and gives patients an opportunity to correct postural misalignments caused by injury, habit or aging. This means better movement, breathing and posture for the patient.

Treatment will focus on the broadening, lengthening and separation of tight connective tissue in various forms. Since connective tissue is what holds muscles, organs, blood vessels, in fact everything in the body together, this release of tight muscles can literately be life changing.

This treatment is also used for muscular aches and pains and specially to help heal soft tissue injuries including BACK, NECK and SHOULDER pain, MIGRAINES and SCIATICA.

Neuromuscular massage treats:

  • Arthritic pain

  • Injury rehabilitation

  • Muscle pain treatment

  • Repetitive strain injury

  • Back and neck problems

  • Migraine headaches
